How iDEA 2.0 collects, uses, and safeguards your personal information.

1. Information We Collect
When you register for iDEA 2.0, we collect personal information including your full name, email address, phone number, college/university name, and team details.
We may also collect academic information such as your year of study, branch, and skills relevant to the hackathon.
Technical information, including IP address, browser type, and pages visited, may be collected automatically when you use our website.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to register and manage your participation in iDEA 2.0, send important communications regarding the event schedule, results, and announcements.
We use contact details to facilitate coordination between participants and organisers during all phases of the hackathon.
Aggregated, anonymised data may be used for internal reporting and to improve future editions of the hackathon.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
Information may be shared with Union Bank of India, K.J. Somaiya School of Engineering, and co-organising bodies strictly for event management purposes.
We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of participants and organisers.
4. Data Retention
Personal data collected during registration will be retained for up to 12 months after the conclusion of iDEA 2.0, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at csi-kjsce@ideahackathon.com.
5. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time.

7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
